In the previous post, I shared with you my beginnings with a Master to learn painting. Continuing that saga, I have now graduated to line drawings. You know the kind of book which contains pages, wherein kids fill up with colors of all kinds. You are amazed how pleased a kid becomes when you give them a book like that with crayons.

My job now was to create such line drawings. It was interesting for me to do 30 of such line drawings over a one week period - that being the "home work". When you try and copy that on blank sheets of paper, you realise the subtle nuances and the fine expressions of the face and body language which the artist has caught with simple lines. The pupils in the eye, the wave of the hairline, the curvature of the nose, the myriad variations of the lips; not to speak of the shapes of the faces - all of these made fascinating discoveries.
